ABBAYE DE BONNEVAUX
An old Cistercian abbey transformed into a castle, an international place of Christian meditation and conferences in Marçay
Of the abbey Notre-Dame de Bonnevaux, founded around 1119 by Hugues VII de Lusignan, there are only few traces left of the Cistercian buildings. Shaken by the Wars of Religion, sold during the Revolution and then partially demolished, its remains were transformed into a castle. Since 2017, this exceptional place finds, thanks to the effort of volunteers and benefactors, a new form of life. The former Bonnevaux Abbey is becoming an international place for Christian meditation and conferences.
