CHÂTEAU D'AUXANCES
11th century castle renovated in the 1960s, located on the banks of the Auxances River, with a 3-story square keep
Built at the end of the 11th century, and renovated in the 1960s, the castle of Auxances is particularly remarkable for its well-preserved three-story square keep. Located on the banks of the Auxances River and slightly set back from the village, the building has had many owners throughout its history and has been the subject of various alterations, some of which are still visible today. Since its transformation into a convent in 1960, it has been home to a community of Carmelite nuns. You can visit the exterior.
