MEDIATHEQUE

The three levels of this library combine various books to count on some 21 000 titles, 50 periodicals, 4 000 discs and 400 cd-roms. On the ground floor is the welcome space, and then the youth corner. First, the Multimedia and Internet Forum, documentaries (funds for regional history and culture) and teen space with comics. In the last, under the apparent frames, disco and adult literature. But the media library develops a fonds «Cité de l'Hara et des Métiers du Livre»: historical books of book and reading, enluminure, calligraphy… A fund deposited by the Society of Authors of Poitou-Charentes and another favouring manual works and needle works in partnership with the association «at the Wire of the Poitou». Shows for children, exhibitions, conferences amplify the cultural life of the city.
