SAINT MARTIAL'S CHURCH
Church with stained glass windows that testify to the economic and social life of the city
The imposing church of Saint-Martial was built in the 12th century and rebuilt in the 19th century in a neo-Gothic style, except for the old choir and the square bell tower, which date from the Romanesque period. Its interior was recently modernized with the addition of a neon cross. Located on the other side of the Old Bridge of Montmorillon, the main attraction of this refurbished church is its stained glass windows which bear witness to the economic and social life of the town. The organ, built in 1881, is classified and can be admired with its 1800 bombs and its 27 stops.
