JARDIN DE LA SÉNÉCHAUSSÉE
A lovely 5,000 m² garden with a splendid view of Notre-Dame church, a mysterious fresco and beautiful rose bushes.
Along the Gartempe river, this beautiful garden offers a splendid view of the Notre-Dame church. The 5,000 m² garden belonging to the Old Palace, where the seneschal exercised the king's justice, was renovated in 2013. Already in the 11th century, the monks cultivated vines here. Under a glass roof at the end of the garden, it is possible to admire a mysterious fresco dating from the 15th century. Designed as a French garden, the drawings have been respected and beautiful rose bushes have been planted.
