ASSOCIATION POITEVINE ESCALADE ET MONTAGNE (APEM)
If climbing has the momentum in recent years, the association behind the current EMPA originated in 1966. In a logic of popular education, there was a question at the time of gathering lovers of varappe and mountain, and then equipping the natural sites around Poitiers (Béruges, Beauvoir, La…). Today, the club has more than 250 licensees, all ages and for any kind of practice: to climb relaxation or sports until the competition. Supervised by a graduate athletic educator, the climbing school offers year-to-year courses for children from 6 years of age, but also initiations and cliff climbing during school holidays. All club licensees have unlimited access - during the slots offered - to the climbing walls of the club's partner rooms. Outings on natural sites are regularly organized for those who wish to get involved in ice climbing, hiking skiing, climbing, sweeping climbing or the block. In the spring of 2017, a group of climbers and climber faced the cliffs walls of Montserrat in Catalonia. This club, where a particularly convivial atmosphere is in place, will welcome you and take you forward whatever your level of practice.
