Chaired by Bruno Belin, the Council has a role that is felt daily in the lives of the inhabitants of Vienna. He is the head of the department's orchestra, and takes major decisions in many areas: social, with assistance to elderly, disabled or families in difficulty of insertion, access to access paths or other roundabouts, financing of public places such as swimming pools or campsites. From a tourist point of view it is also an important engine, as it decides jointly on priorities to be included in the budget of the Departmental committee on tourism, and organises numerous demonstrations often free of charge in the communes. Free concerts with Les Heures Women and close to 50 000 spectators in 2010, and the caravan of sport for children is proposed in rural areas each year in the form of animations.
