AIDES
This is the local branch of the anti-AIDS association. Located on boulevard Jeanne d'Arc, Aides was founded in 1984, in tribute to the Poitevin philosopher Michel Foucault, who died of the disease in December 1983. Its salaried staff and team of volunteers welcome the public twice a week, free of charge, to answer questions on sexual health (risk-taking, PrEP, living with HIV, etc.), as well as to provide discreet screening for HIV, hepatitis B and C and syphilis. You'll find comfort and advice to help you avoid feeling isolated. The center d'accueil et d'accompagnement à la réduction des risques pour les usagers de drogue (reception and support center for harm reduction for drug users) also runs drop-in sessions on the premises.
