ST. LOUIS CHAPEL
One of the jewels of the classical architecture of Poitiers, which today has lost its religious vocation.
Following the construction of the royal college in 1604, the Jesuits added this chapel to the building. The first mass was celebrated here on January1, 1614. With its facade of colossal Doric order, it is one of the jewels of the city's classical architecture with its unique nave, with ribbed vaults and the monumental altarpiece of the choir. Today, it has lost its religious vocation and is only visited during cultural events. Today, the church hosts choral concerts and various art exhibitions. This building is open for exhibitions and for the Heritage Days.
