SAINTE-RADEGONDE CHURCH
Discover a church, admiring its Gothic-Angevin nave, followed by the raised choir and painted decorations
If your legs take you to the former court of justice of the church of Saint Radegonde, know that Radegonde was queen of the Franks, founder of the first monastery of nuns in Gaul and patron saint of the city. After entering through the church's Romanesque bell tower-porch, you will discover its nave in the Angevin Gothic style and continue through the raised choir with painted decorations dating from the 19th century before entering the crypt, consecrated in 1099, where the black marble sarcophagus of the saint is discovered.
