Museum in Poitiers, housing wall remains and regional archaeology collections, with engraved portraits from the period.
Located near the Saint-Jean baptistery and opposite the Espace Mendès-France, the Musée Sainte-Croix is the largest museum in Poitiers and the largest in the Poitou-Charentes region. Occupying the site of the former Sainte-Croix Abbey, it was designed in 1974 by Poitiers architect Jean Monge. The concrete-and-glass structure, with its Brutalist style and respect for the historic district, was awarded the "Patrimoine du XXe siècle" label for its remarkable architecture.
