MANSION ON VICTOR HUGO STREET
Built in 1869, this private mansion with its bevelled façade is a real architectural curiosity. In 1864 and 1868, the rue Impériale (now Victor Hugo) was built to connect the prefecture to the town hall, and it was out of the question to touch the appearance of the Hôtel d'Yversay located just behind the building. This private mansion therefore had to adapt and make a place for itself (in its own way) in the city. Offering its facade to one of the main arteries of the city, it reveals a splendid decoration of Renaissance imitation.
