The Grande Rue boasts many architectural curiosities
The Grand-rue follows the Roman route of the decumanus (east-west Roman axis). The upper part is very commercial, and artisans and artists feel right at home here. The street is home to many architectural curiosities (and hides just as many). Note the Renaissance Hôtel de Briey at no. 96, and the Hôtel de Rochefort at no. 102. At no. 118 is the 15th-century Maison des trois Clous. At no. 159 stands the Hôtel du Grand Prieuré d'Aquitaine, and at no. 190 the Hôtel Barbarin. This long, busy thoroughfare with its many original buildings makes the Grand-rue a street not to be missed.
