REPUBLIC SQUARE
The Poitevins stubbornly call it Magenta square, as it is true that since the construction of the city center, it makes body with the famous rue de Magenta, sharing with it the pavement. A mineral spot of some beautiful preserved trees and a few more recently planted, the place is remarkable by its monument to the French-Prussian war of 1870. Behind it is antithesis, a kind of contemporary curtain, in an almost moving eye, of 100 red and blue masts whose color varies depending on where you are. It's the Anisotropic Panorama. There is a local producer market on the square every Friday.
