Do we owe this large stone slab to the Fairy Melusine, to Saint Radegonde or to Pantagruel who, according to Rabelais, used it as a table for feasting? These are only legends! Nearly 5000 years ago, the dolmen was a funerary chamber, covered with earth and stones, forming a tumulus. Located on the ancient Roman road, it is now part of a completely different route... that of the "bitards", a student brotherhood referring to Rabelais.
