After crossing the Place Ravarit and the old bridge, you will come across an old house in Poitou. This was the residence of a certain Pierre Corderoy, Lord of the Bridge, born in 1658. The building was later used as a place of accommodation for nuns in charge of a girls' school. A rather rare and rather exceptional fact in those times, since we were then in 1848, a time little marked by the actions in favour of the emancipation of women...
