SAINT STONE CHURCH
This Romanesque church located northwest of Poitiers, was built in the 11th and 12th centuries
Located northwest of Poitiers, the commune of Frontenay-sur-Dive joined that of Saint-Jean-de-Sauves almost 50 years ago, enriching its heritage with a Romanesque church. Built in the eleventh and twelfth centuries, an enlargement of the nave and the façade has taken away some of its charm. Fortunately, for lovers of old stones, the choir and the bell tower have kept their Romanesque soul. Next door, at the entrance to the cemetery, is the Notre-Dame-de-Pitié chapel. The church of Saint-Clement de Saint-Jean-de-Sauves was partially rebuilt in the 19th century.
