ROMAN CHURCH SAINT MARTIN
Church with a pointed arch door with sharp-edged arches in Saint-Martin-l'Ars
The church of Saint-Martin le brûlé is mentioned in this form as early as 1096. For a long time, it was called Saint-Martin-de-Lars. The facade is sober: portal, narrow bay, cross at the top of the gable. The door is drawn in a pointed arch with sharp-edged voussoirs. The nave to which we have access has three bays. The powerful supports that carry the heavy bell tower and its 15th century bay have led to a significant narrowing between the nave and the bay under the bell tower. A chapel has been added.
