SAINT-MAURICE CHURCH
A church with a choir plan in the shape of a cloverleaf, of a romanesque poitevin nave and side aisles of the same height
Here is a church that deserves a visit: the choir's plan is in the shape of a cloverleaf - it is original to say the least. Built between 1080 and 1180, its fortified bell tower dates from the Hundred Years War. Inside, we find the Romanesque art of Poitou : nave and side aisles are almost the same height, the light comes from the side aisles and the choir. Do not miss the mural paintings (some have been damaged by humidity), especially the one of the great Christ in majesty.
