Located near the center of the town, the castle of La Massardière is classified as a historical monument. It was built in the 15th century on the basis of an ancient motte castrale. Having belonged for a long time to a noble family of Châtellerault, the house has undergone many changes over the centuries, particularly in the 18th century. The castle is composed of a main building, two wings and a courtyard of honor. The ensemble is completed by outbuildings and a dovecote.
