Nestled in a pleasant green setting just outside Poitiers, La Gannerie is an address for gourmets. For the past twenty years, Christophe Laffon has been offering traditional, gourmet cuisine in a bucolic setting, served in the dining room or, in fine weather, on the pleasant terrace. Rochelaise of shellfish, roast wild sea bass, roast saddle of lamb with jus, warm apricot and almond moelleux, pan-fried cherries with kirsch. The plates are copious and delicious. And it couldn't be more local: the chef has a vegetable garden in the restaurant's garden. Four function rooms are available for banquets, seminars or family meals. Ask to pop into the one that can accommodate up to 120 people. Its wooden framework is splendid. It's sure to get you in the mood for a party!
