ST. PETER'S CHURCH
This church dating from the 13th century houses a large mosaic with Byzantine inspirations, and an altar dedicated to St. Joseph
Dating from the 13th century, restored in the 17th century after the fire of the city, it consists of a single nave and a large canopy opening onto the square that often housed a grain market. The square bell tower supports a campanile surrounded by four pyramids and bears a gilded metal virgin. With the fortunes made in Mexico, the interior space was first enlarged and the church itself was rebuilt in 1912. In addition to the remarkable volumes, one can admire the large mosaic of Byzantine inspiration, as well as an altar dedicated to Saint Joseph.
