CARLUC PRIORY
This Carluc priory, hidden in a green setting, is a religious site comprising a medieval chapel and a gallery.
Hidden in a green setting, the priory of Carluc appears as a haven of peace. It is above all a religious place and has been built closely interwoven, linked, dependent on the rock that shelters it. It consists of a medieval chapel surrounded by a necropolis of rock tombs, the remains of two other ruined churches, partly dug into the rock, a gallery also dug into the rock and also presenting rock tombs. The proximity of the ancient Via Domitia made it a stopover in the Middle Ages for pilgrims between Spain and Italy.
