Citadel built by Vauban on the slopes of a rocky outcrop overlooking the superb village of Entrevaux

Built at the instigation of Vauban on the slopes of a rocky spur overlooking the village of Entrevaux, the Entrevaux citadel offers a remarkable panoramic view. The drawbridge dates back to 1650. From the powder magazine to the contemporary cells for prisoners of the Great War, a visit to this fortress allows visitors to imagine what life was like there. Please note: access is on foot only, via 800 m of paved path, 9 ramps and 156 m of ascent... The 30-minute stroll is a gentle one, with views over the Var river and the valley.

Opening time and information on THE CITADELLA

Open all year round. Every day and on public holidays. Accessible to the public 7/7 days a week by purchasing access at the ticket machine (bring change), or at the tourist office. Free for children under 4. Adults: €3. Citadelle: €5 (adult), €3 (children under 12). Chemin de ronde: €3 (adult), €2 (children under 12). Chemin de ronde/citadelle package: €6 (adult), €3 (children under 12). Accessible on foot only.

Superbe panorama

Le système de paiement par borne a fonctionné parfaitement et il ne reste plus qu'à monter pour admirer la vue d'une part, mais surtout les travaux de préservation de ce site majestueux ! Merci aux associations pour leur travail d'entretien et de restauration !

Autant dire qu'elle se mérite! La montée n'est pas à la portée de tout le monde mais quel panorama une fois arriver en haut! A couper le souffle! Et quel travail de la part des bénévoles!

Fort sympa, superbe!!! Un job colossal, par les bénévoles, a été fait pour l’accès et réhabilité la citadelle. Je reviendrai pour la fêtes médiévale!!!
