NOTRE-DAME DU BOURGUET CATHEDRAL
Cathedral Notre-Dame du Bourguet, with a central nave, side aisles, a bell tower and a magnificent organ
Located in front of one of the entrances to the old town, this major historical monument of Forcalquier impresses by its mass and the atmosphere that emanates from it. It has a central nave with a broken cradle, a choir, a Romanesque transept and a bell tower dating from the beginning of the 13th century, considered to be the first evidence of Gothic art. The side naves and the bell tower date from the 17th century. You will notice the bell Maria-Sauvaterra that weighs 1200 kg and dates from 1609.
