CHÂTEAU DES MAGNANS HÔTEL RESTAURANT * * *
Large gothic manor at the gates of Mercantour offering an absolutely incredible setting
A large fantasy Gothic manor house, inspired by the German castle of Neuschwanstein, built between 1903 and 1913, it is decorated with a bas-relief top door of Clodion, representing a procession of bacchaeans, and a stained glass window by Louis Balmet. The site is considered to be the most beautiful "Mexican villa". Classified as a historical monument, it is now a hotel and restaurant establishment. The setting, at the gates of the Mercantour in the heart of the Ubaye valley, is absolutely incredible. Be careful, the mountain passes are closed in winter.
