MALLEFOUGASSE-AUGES
Between Saint-Etienne-les-Orgues and Sisteron, take a stop in this small village born in the Middle Ages. Far from the usual tourist trails, it will charm you with its narrow alleys of covered passages, or doors with Gothic or Renaissance knives, its well and its communal oven. Step by step, you will go to Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, rare testimony of the "first Romanesque art", then to the castle of Consonoves, which you can admire the facades (seventeenth and eighteenth centuries). The Grand Venat road will take you to Saint Donat chapel. The discovery of Augès chapel will offer you a beautiful view over the Durance Valley, and the inevitable mountain of Lure.
