NOTRE-DAME-DE-LURE
The abbey of Notre-Dame-de-Lure was founded in 1165 by the abbot of Boscodon, Guigues de Revel
To discover the abbey of Notre-Dame-de-Lure (classified as a historical monument in 1980), take the D113, a winding road lined with cedar trees in the direction of the ski resort. It is there, away from the traditional itineraries. Founded in 1165 by the abbot of Boscodon Guigues de Revel, its monks were, according to the Chalaisian rule, lumberjacks and shepherds. In front of the abbey, a permanent spring and a magnificent terrace shaded by walnut and lime trees several hundred years old, in the heart of a beech forest. It was once an important place of pilgrimage.
