FESTIVAL DE L'ÉTÉ ASTRO

Saint-Michel-the Observatory is a mythical place of French professional astronomy by the presence, of course, of its famous observatory of Haute-Provence with a few bolts further north! Every summer, the small town organizes an astronomy festival, the Summer Astro, on the three important sites of the area (the observatory, but also the astronomy center located 1 km east of the village, and the village itself). Programs are eclectic and spread over the day and night with observations from the Sun, night sky (including large telescopes), exhibitions, conferences, planetarium sessions etc. The detailed celebration program is generally available in June on the astronomical center website.
