ÉGLISE SAINT-SATURNIN
Church of neo-Gothic style which distinguishes itself in particular by its basilical plan, its numerous sculptures and its stained glasses in Cusset.
In the heart of Cusset, the Saint-Saturnin church is a neo-Gothic style building built during the second half of the 18th century, on the plans of the Parisian architect Jean-Baptiste Lassus, who will be followed by the Vichy architect Hugues Bartilliat. It is characterized by its basilica plan, its numerous sculptures and the lighting of its numerous stained glass windows at nightfall. On this site, a Romanesque church from the 11th century once stood, but it was rebuilt to make way for the current Saint-Saturnin church. The new bell tower was added thanks to a gift from Napoleon III.
