L’ÉGLISE SAINT TROPHIME
The church was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1887, and features a altarpiece. The steeple is a tower attached to the building.
Bouyon's parish church has been mentioned since 1312. In 1787, it was cited as being dedicated to Notre-Dame de l'Assomption and Saint Trophime. Destroyed by a terrible earthquake in 1887, it was completely rebuilt to a different plan. The new building was completed in 1889, the date inscribed above the door. The top of the bell tower, which once had a pointed, four-sloped roof, is now flat, with a wrought-iron campanile. The church contains a 15th-century altarpiece from the Nice school.
