This building was built around two axes: an abse and an open nave designed to accommodate pilgrims in distress. The abse that still remains was decorated with frescoes from the sixteenth century by Andrea de Cella. It was by chance in 1936 that these frescos, until then hidden by a coating, were discovered by the parish priest. The chapel was subsequently classified as Historic Monument. The legend says that this place of Italian style inspired Renoir.
