Built in 1309 for Rainier Grimaldi, Lord of Cagnes, this building remained the family home of the Grimaldis before being acquired by the municipality of Cagnes-sur-Mer in 1937. The castle was then transformed into a museum, then classified as a historical monument in 1948. Its fortress-like silhouette contrasts with the light and airy interiors, which are the result of embellishments from the Baroque period.
