CARNOT BOULEVARD
From the exit of the A 8 motorway and the square Carnot which delineates the town of Le Cannet, this long boulevard goes down to the centre of Cannes and leads to the railway station, behind the famous Croisette. Shortly after its completion in 1883, this north-south artery 26 metres wide and 2 600 metres long was named after the French statesman Sadi Carnot, President of the Republic from 1887 to 1894, the year of his assassination. Punctuated by remarkable buildings such as the Palais de Justice, the Carnot Lyceum, the Cannes Savings Caisse building, the Cavendish Hotel and the old Louvre hotel in No. 2, this artery opens onto parallel streets also rich in precious architecture.
