NOTRE-DAME-DU-PUY CATHEDRAL
The cathedral was built in the XIIIth century in a romanesque style, but it was redesigned in the XVIIth and XVIII th centuries. In the XVIIth century, a double-revolution external staircase was built at the entrance and the side doors were sealed. The arcatures of the facade bears witness to the lombard influence of the construction of this building. The lateral baroque chapel Saint-Sacrament added in 1740 and the massive cylindrical pillars are the main originalities of this cathedral. On the right side, beautiful retable attributed to Louis Brea. In the nave, paintings by Charles Nègre and Rubens (The Coronation of Thorns, The Crucifixion, The Invention of the Cross) and the only known religious painting of Fragonard: The washing of feet.

Elle présente un Rubens et un Fragonard qu'il faut absolument venir admirer.
L'ambiance y est paisible.
Les tableaux de Rubens situés sur la droite, sont remarquables mais n'ont pas l'air très entretenus, c'est regrettable.
