LE CHÂTEAU DE BASSES GRÉOLIÈRES
The ruined Château de Gréolières, in the heart of the village, is not open to the public. It was bought by a private individual in the 20th century.
The ruins of this castle are located in the heart of the present-day village and are not open to visitors. It was built in 1070 by Rostang, Lord of Gréolières. It passed into the hands of the Counts of Provence and then Romée de Villeneuve, Baron of Vence, until the French Revolution. It was then attacked by the Protestants of Grasse during the Wars of Religion, and later by the Dukes of Savoy. It was rebuilt around 1600, before falling into ruin and being bought by a private owner in the 20th century.
