COMMUNAL LAUNDRIES
Magnificent washhouses where fresh, clear spring water, fed by local springs, flows.
In these magnificent washhouses, over three centuries old, fresh, clear water flows, fed by local springs. They have been worn and polished by the little hands of thousands of washerwomen, who have washed so many clothes in them with "ash". Since the 1970s, with the advent of modernization, they are no longer in use, but remain historical witnesses to a bygone era. The Town Hall has now undertaken a restoration project, with high-level wooden cladding, ceiling panelling and appropriate lighting to enhance the site.
