ST JAMES THE GREAT CHURCH
Church that stands out at the entrance of the village, built in several stages from 1580 in La colle-sur-Loup
The church of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur stands out at the entrance of the village. It was built in several stages starting in 1580, to replace the chapel of Saint-Jacques, the main religious building which proved too small in the 16th century in relation to the number of worshippers and of which only a door remains. The church was first constituted by the nave and then the square bell tower with campanile dating from 1673. The choir and the sacristy were added in 1835. It is dedicated to St. James the Greater, patron saint of the parish. The interest of the building lies in its Neo-Classical style facade with its two pilasters and its walnut door topped by a triangular pediment dating from 1766. Its stained glass windows represent Saint-Jacques le Majeur, Saint-Eloi and Saint-Roch.
