ANCIENNE PRISON
Former prison of La Colle-sur-Loup with its door with window which is the only one still visible, transformed into housing.
During the 18th century, in order to gain independence from the village of Saint-Paul, La Colle-sur-Loup wished to have its own local police force, resulting in the creation of a prison. It was installed next to the hospital and served until the beginning of the century essentially as a sobering-up cell. Following the creation of the commune of La Colle-sur-Loup in 1792, it was transformed into housing. Nowadays, only its door with a window is still visible.
