COOPÉRATIVE OLÉICOLE LA ROQUETTE-SUR-VAR
It is the only mill in this small village of 900 inhabitants. Moreover, with its facade repainted in brick and green, we can only see it at the entrance of the village. The mill still grinds between 30 and 40 tons of olives every year. Managed by volunteers, it is equipped with old-fashioned millstones and presses the oil with the help of scourtins. A particularity that the former president Marc Dépo (who has unfortunately just passed away) liked to show in November during the open days where the new oil is celebrated. The 150 members leave with their extra virgin oil and their Nice PDO oil.
