Park with picnic areas, a walking trail, with a bike path, home to many species of birds.
The lake of Broc represents a unique heritage in the department. It is a resurgence of the Var water table that formed the alluvial valley. This former aggregate extraction area of 50 hectares, which has been rehabilitated, has become an ideal space for outdoor activities or relaxation!
Half of the park's surface is taken up by a lake that goes all the way around for about two kilometers. Swimming is not allowed, but the banks are landscaped. There are picnic areas, a walking trail, a fitness trail and a bicycle path.
The water is of excellent quality and is very popular with fishermen who find trout, pike and carp. The area is also ideal for observing numerous species of birds, as the Mediterranean gull has a wintering site there. The departmental council organizes discovery outings with the objective of awakening the senses. These guided tours last about 2 hours and allow the public to learn more about the flora, mushrooms, insects, soil, geology, water
... For bike rides, you can either follow the dirt track around the lake, or you can choose to continue your efforts along the banks of the Var river, heading north, up to the Charles-Albert bridge. In this second case, the bicycle path offers a panorama on this famous river which, let's not forget it, was formerly the border between France and the county of NiceDid you know?
