GARDENS OF THE INTERNATIONAL PERFUME MUSEUM
Gardens of the Musée International de la Parfumerie in Mouans-Sartoux, dedicated to floral and botanical heritage.
The Gardens of the International Perfume Museum (JMIP) are spread over two hectares, a few kilometres from Grasse where the perfume industry was born. Dedicated to the floral and botanical heritage, they faithfully reconstitute the old-fashioned cultivation fields. Here, everything is natural: no pesticides or artificial substances. The gardens are irrigated by a spring channelled into a long basin. You can stroll around or join a free guided tour or picnic in the shade of the cypress trees. You can follow the paths marked out among groups of plants: roses, lavender, jasmine, orange trees and others. Woody, floral, fruity, musky, aromatic fragrances... the number of different species that can be used to create a perfume is astonishing. Good to know: the plants have been arranged according to the olfactory notes they give off: floral, woody, fruity, musky... Try to recognize them! During your olfactory walk, keep an eye out for the tree whose branches have trapped for eternity a metal bottle left there by mistake years ago. A permanent exhibition illustrates the link between botanical cultures and perfumery. For some years now, the garden has also been a LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) refusal. The plus: numerous activities and events complement the visit with audio guides, workshops, an educational kit for children... Agenda on the website.
