The Bistrot des Viviers has been reborn on the initiative of David Marchisio, a Menton native from a family renowned for supplying seafood. The menu focuses on seafood and fish. David displays his devotion to the culinary heritage of Auguste Escoffier. He is restoring the traditional bistro to its former glory, and advocating the values of his master thinker: fresh produce, natural flavors and elegant simplicity on the plate. Carnivores will also find what they're looking for, with a fine selection of meat dishes.

The waiter lied to us. He said service was not included. This is fairly unusual, so we asked to be sure "service non compris?". He said no. He went on to say we should leave 10% to 20%, extremely unusual for a waiter to suggest an amount. He then gave his game away by saying "what would you do in America?" Clearly he has some bias against Americans. When we looked at the bill, it clearly said at the top "Service Compris.". He just wanted to rip us off.

Bonjour, Malgré le chaleureux accueil de notre serveuse, nous avons passé, mon épouse et moi, une bien mauvaise soirée "gastronomique" le 20/02/2024. Une table bien trop petite (60*60 cm, dimensions d'une table de café) pour accueillir un dîner 2 personnes et tout ce qu'il convient d'y mettre (verres, pain, assaisonnement, etc.). Des assiettes bien trop grandes, débordant de la table. Une banquette avachie où on se retrouve assis trop bas. En guise d'apéritif, un Mojito "à l'eau" préparé à l'économie. Un plat de poisson de ligne aux légumes tout à fait commun et un homard de Bretagne grillé à décortiquer (sans poubelle de table, mais où aurait-on pu la mettre ?), servi de légumes divers et d'une purée très tiède et surtout sans aucun goût. Cela faisait longtemps que je n'avais pas mangé de "Mousseline" ! Le chef ne devait pas être en grande forme ce soir là, mais la caisse par contre, l'était : 148 euros pour 1 apéritif, 2 plats, 1 verre de vin et 2 tisanes. Honteux !!!
