The aubergine is a must!!! (But everything is very, VERY good)
Tout d'abord l'accueil du responsable: son sourire, son énergie et sa bienveillance nous a tout de suite plu. Le restaurant n'est pas grand mais tout respire l'authenticité, le décor , les brocantes chinées avec goût (ses toilettes folkloriques valent le coup d'œil ;-)
La cuisine : un régal, la carte n'est pas grande, ce qui est gage de produits frais; tout est fait maison. Le chef nous a ensuite détaillé un par un les plats, à mesure qu'il expliquait la composition de chaque plat on imaginait déjà les odeurs délicieuses et le chant des cigales.
Nous avons eu droit à une dégustation d'huiles, chacune ayant sa particularité.
Les plats sont délicieux, je me suis régalée. Une cuisine authentique avec des produits locaux comme on en a rarement dans les restaurants de nos jours.
J'ai rarement vu un restaurateur aussi passionné et investi dans sa cuisine, merci monsieur pour votre accueil et gentillesse, vous avez rendu notre déjeuner fabuleux, de tout cœur nous vous remercions, qu'il est agréable de rencontrer des personnes authentiques, gentilles et enthousiastes comme vous.
Lorsque je reviendrai à Nice je reviendrai à l'Oliviera!
Seul bémol: ils n'acceptent que les espèces, (de nos jours nous payons en grande majorité par CB et rares sont ceux qui ont encore du liquide sur eux...),
The owner is so sweet and loves to share his love of olive oils and fresh produce - only wish we had more time and space to try everything! Also very kind to move tables around to accommodate 4 of us walking in at lunch.

If you are expecting fast service do not come here (as far as I can see there are only two people working the entire restaurant which is busy.
If you are expecting an extensive carte or wine list do not come here.
However I do strongly recommend this place, because,
* The food is some of the best I have ever eaten.
* Friendly ambiance.
* The owner and the lady in the kitchen were both excellent and genuinely welcoming.
* The place is also an olive oil shop and there were plenty of free tastings which seem to come as part of the service.
* The "slow" service is actually an advantage on a hot afternoon in Nice.
* The overall value was excellent .
Overall a wonderful place .
