Restaurant offering copious and original dishes

Passionate about cooking, Freddy opened his first restaurant in 1987 after numerous apprenticeships with "great chefs". This very talented Nice man quickly specialised in aïoli and paella, recipes that he inherits from his family. His eponymous restaurant has become an instituton on the Cours Saleya in the heart of Vieux-Nice, over the years. On the à la carte menu: many kinds of aïoli, many types of paella directly served at table in typical plates, the unmissable bouillabaisse, the spaghettis with seafood as well as the daily catches of seafood from Île d'Oléron, meats, salads and pastas. The originality of the copious dishes, the quality of the taste and the presentation make the difference. We love the couteous and effective service, as well as the pleasant atmosphere with musical background.

We were very disappointed with this " restaurant". On the one hand, the incessant sound of a door that on the way slams waiters and cold which rushes, were unbearable to us. The aioli are not even homemade! Enormous quantities served but much as vegetables and fish. Conclusion: tourist trap with exaggerated prices…

I already eaten there at least 4 times so I recommend.
The stew is good, not exceptional but well.
The fish is cooked super good, I also is eaten there spoke has cooked to perfection.
the fish is always accompanied by rice and a sauce.
the desserts are well.
In change it is a good address in the cour saleya, of good food, reasonable prices, good service.

For lunch outside at the beginning of July: as a starter of the menu, the heated mussels and of course inmangeables followed by a bouillabaisse (fish overcooked). The ice cream from the dessert and wine were very goods. In short, it is all but gastronomy! Avoid.
The originality of the dishes, their culinary quality and their presentation make the difference. Primo it is very copious, then, paella are served on table in the typical dishes, fish are cuttings in room in front of the client, seafood platters are magnificent, oysters of excellent quality, and finally sweets are homemade and generously served. Good table service, musical good atmosphere, and a warm welcome.
