NOTRE DAME BASILICA
This church is the largest in Nice. Inspired by the Angers cathedral, it was built in 1864 thanks to the offerings of Christians in the city. This construction took place due to the willingness of the authorities to Frenchify the city after the annexation of the county of Nice to France, which is reflected in the architecture of the Gothic Revival building, characteristic of typical French buildings. Its plans, designed by the architect Lenormand, highlight two square towers of 65 m each and an ambulatory with radiating chapels which extends the aisles. Inside, a huge rose window depicting scenes of the Assumption overlooks the entire building.
