WAR MEMORIAL
A monument to the memory of children who died in the First World War, designed by architect Roger Seassal.
Emblematic of the Nice seafront, this colossal building is the work of the architect Roger Seassal, who also designed the Casino de Menton. It took four years of work (1924-1928) to build this temple dedicated to the memory of the 4,000 children of the country who died during the First World War, to which are added those who died during the Second World War, in Indochina and Algeria. Embedded in the rock, in the former quarries dug out of the castle, this 32 m high building contains, in its dome, 3,655 soldiers' identity plates.
