THE NEGRESCO
More than a hotel, it is a museum, a real art gallery with thousands of works to discover from the lobby to the floor.
A unique and timeless Nice legend, for over a century the Negresco has graced the Promenade des Anglais. In the Belle Époque style, it is still considered the most emblematic and luxurious hotel in Nice. It awakens in every visitor the desire for pleasure, idleness and indulgence. Built in 1913, this luxury hotel stands proudly on the Promenade des Anglais, facing the Mediterranean. Often used as a backdrop for film shoots. Its immaculate neoclassical facades, with their rich Baroque decorations, are unmistakable and have earned it the status of Monument Historique.
The Negresco remains the city's only hotel-museum, with an extensive collection of works of art and period furnishings numbering over 6,000, and numerous collections retracing five centuries of art history, including works by Dalí, Vasarely... From the salons dedicated to Louis XVI and Napoleon III to the Venetian and street art rooms, French works of art from the 17th century to the present day are an integral part of the setting.
Today, the hotel boasts 102 rooms and 26 suites, each with its own unique decor. Rated 5 stars, it is one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, and one of the first in France to adopt an environmental policy, obtaining the European Ecolabel which guarantees the implementation of measures to protect the environment. It is also one of the few hotels to have been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label.
