VILLA ARSON
Atypical establishment, with beautiful gardens with many Mediterranean species, and organizes art exhibitions
At the same time a high school of art, national center of exhibitions of contemporary art, media library and residence of artists, Villa Arson is an entirely atypical establishment. Created on the will of André Malraux, it was built in 1970 by architect Michel Marot (grand prize of Rome in 1954) on the family property of the Arson of Saint-Joseph, a bourgeois family in Nice. The buildings are Mediterranean style, brutalist in concrete and agglomerated with pebbles of the Var. As for the old house of the seventeenth century listed by the French Historic Monument Society, it is still there but contrasts with the contemporary style of the establishment. Beautiful gardens with many Mediterranean essences are carefully maintained and are particularly pleasant to walk around. The villa was awarded the twentieth century heritage label in 2002. The establishment regularly organizes numerous art exhibitions throughout the year, you will find the detailed program on the website.
