MUSEUM MASSENA
Museum housing collections on key aspects of Nice's influence from Bonaparte to 1939
Housed in a splendid 19th-century villa, the site belonged to the Nice-born André Masséna before he donated it to the City of Nice, stipulating that the villa should become a museum. From 1921 onwards, the museum's collections (paintings, graphic arts, sculptures, furniture and objets d'art) covered the key aspects of Nice's influence from the Napoleonic Empire to 1939. From the Promenade des Anglais, the view of the museum, set in the heart of a beautiful wooded park designed by Edouard André, is magnificent.
